HCPC Registered · Neurological Specialist
Specialist stroke physiotherapy, at home in St Albans.
Expert neurological rehabilitation delivered to your door. No hospital car parks, no waiting rooms, no six-session limit.
How It Works
Recovery is a pathway, not an appointment.
Rebuilding movement after a stroke depends on repetition, progression and honest measurement. Here is how that works in practice.
Assessment
A full 60-minute assessment in your own home. Movement, strength, balance and sensation — measured, then written down, so progress can be proved rather than felt.
Programme
A personalised plan built around your goals and your rooms. Your chair, your stairs, your garden path — practised where you actually use them. Every session is a full hour, the same as the assessment.
Progress
Regular reassessment against the baseline. Goals move up as you do, and if physiotherapy stops helping, you will be told that honestly.

Discharge day, then often weeks with no physio.
In hospital there is therapy most days. On discharge day that stops, and NHS community physiotherapy often takes several weeks to begin — sometimes longer. It is the point at which rehabilitation matters most, and it is frequently the point at which there is least of it.
We work in that gap. An assessment usually within a week of coming home, a programme you can start straight away, and a handover to your NHS community team when they pick up — not instead of them, alongside them.
- 1 in 3 stroke patients were not discharged to a stroke-specific community rehab or early supported discharge team in 2024/25
- 6 weeks the usual maximum length of early supported discharge, when stroke recovery runs for years
- 90,049 people waiting over 52 weeks for NHS community services in January 2026, up from 67,879 a year earlier

Why Private
What changes when the six-session limit doesn't apply.
More time, faster progress
NHS physio is often limited to a handful of sessions. Private care means as many sessions as you need, for as long as they keep helping.
Treatment in your own home
No hospitals, no transport challenges. We come to you, which matters most when mobility or fatigue makes travel the hardest part of the day.
Truly specialist care
Sheryll works exclusively in neurological and stroke rehabilitation. Every session is built around your specific goals, not a generic protocol.
No GP referral needed

Your Physiotherapist
Sheryll PakNeurological Physiotherapist
- HCPC Registered physiotherapist
- CSP Chartered member
- Specialist Postgraduate neuro training
- Insured Full professional indemnity
Sheryll is a HCPC-registered and CSP-chartered physiotherapist with specialist training and experience in neurological rehabilitation — particularly stroke recovery and elderly rehabilitation.
She started St Albans Neuro Physio to bring that level of specialist care directly into patients' homes, removing the barriers of travel, waiting rooms and limited provision for people who need ongoing support.
Her approach is grounded in current neuroscience: neuroplasticity, motor learning and task-specific training. But it is delivered with warmth rather than clinical detachment, because recovery from a stroke or a fall involves confidence and motivation as much as it involves muscle.
She is a local, independent physiotherapist rather than an agency — so the person you speak to on the phone is the person who treats you.
She previously worked as a physiotherapist at The Wellington Hospital in London, where complex neurological rehabilitation is everyday work. She no longer works there; the experience is what came home with her.

“The home visits mean my mother doesn't have the stress of travelling. Sheryll is professional, warm, and clearly knows her field. We couldn't recommend her more.
Adult child of a patient, Harpenden
“After months of limited NHS physio, Sheryll's private sessions have been transformative. She sets real goals and works hard to achieve them with you.
